Having a Laugh with
NEIL INNES

Neil Innes 2000 flyer

On Thursday 2nd March 2000 I went to the Guild Hall in Gloucester to see Neil Innes perform songs and tell stories about his time as a member of the BONZO DOG DOO-DAH BAND, part of THE MONTY PYTHON Team, and THE RUTLES.

The night was started off with THE URBAN SPACEMAN (which he described as 'a medley of hit'). He then told us about the early gigs and how the Bonzos would set off fireworks at the end of RULE BRITANIA which would make the people jump (good job I was not there). We then had some audience participation but I was laughing so much that I could hardly join in.

In the second half he performed a medley of tracks from his time as a RUTLE which included CHEESE AND ONIONS, WITH A GIRL LIKE YOU, and GOOD TIMES ROLL, to name but a few.

There were other songs performed and other stories told but as I was laughing so much it is hard to remember them all.
